Roadmap
What is live, what is being built next, and what will never be built. Items move between sections as real trainers ask for them. Nothing here is a promise with a date.
PacksLeft does one job: tell you and your client how many sessions they have left, and take the money for the next pack. Everything on this page serves that job.
Live today
11 itemsIn the app now- Session count
- Tap a client, tap Log, see “3 left”. Completed, late cancel and no-show each use one session. Undo any time. The voided row stays in history.
- Packs
- 5 and 10 packs at your price. Expiry dates. Add to a pack or replace it. Comp sessions. Per-session clients with no pack.
- Client link
- One link per client. No app, no login. Shows sessions left, last five sessions, your policy, a Buy button. Rotatable if it leaks.
- Getting paid
- Stripe Checkout on your own Stripe account at Stripe rates only. PacksLeft takes 0%. Text a client a one-tap Buy link. Record cash, Venmo, Zelle or bank payments by hand. Payments tab by month.
- Booking
- Clients book a 1:1 on their link inside the hours you set. Two-way Google Calendar sync. A client cancel inside your late-cancel window uses a session automatically. A trainer cancel never does. Unlisted intake link for someone who is not a client yet.
- Calendar feed
- A client can subscribe to her own sessions from her link. Moves update the event.
- Alerts
- Email at 8am your time when a client hits your low-session threshold (2 by default), a week before a pack expires, and on expiry day. The client is never emailed.
- Import and export
- Bring your sheet in as CSV or Excel, Google Sheets included. Dry run first, then commit. Export your clients, packs, sessions and payments as CSV any time, even after you stop paying.
- Photos
- A face next to each name on the client list. Never shown on the client link.
- Email link, Google, or Apple. No password.
- Price
- $14.99 a month or $149.99 a year. 30 days free. If you stop paying the account goes read-only and export still works.
Now
6 itemsBuilding this quarterEach one has been asked for or is the next step behind something that has.
- Install on your phone
- Add PacksLeft to your home screen. Opens full screen like an app, with its own icon, no browser bar. Same account, same data, nothing to download from a store.
Why“Is there an app?” is the most common question. This is the honest answer: the web app on your home screen, which ships faster and never pays a store cut.
- Phone notifications
- The 2-left and expiry alerts arrive as a push notification on the installed app, not only as an email.
WhyEmail at 8am gets missed between sets. A buzz does not.
- Group log
- Pick three or four clients, mark the session used once. Semi-private and small-group trainers stop tapping four times.
WhySecond most requested after the app.
- Expiry extension
- Give a pack more time from the client page. Injury, travel, a bad month. The old date stays in history.
WhyToday the only option is replace the pack, which forfeits. That is the wrong tool for a kindness.
- Per-client cancel window
- Override your late-cancel hours for one client.
WhyThe long-time client who texts at 6am gets a different rule than the new one.
- Refund voids credits
- A Stripe refund removes the unused sessions, with a confirm before it does.
WhyRight now a refund leaves the sessions on the counter. The counter should agree with the money.
Next
7 itemsAfter Now ships, in this order- Re-sell prompt
- A list of clients who finished a pack and have not bought another, with a one-tap Buy link to text them.
WhyThis is where trainers leave money on the table. The counter already knows; it should say so.
- Client reminders
- A text or email to the client the day before a booked session, opt-in per client.
WhyFewer no-shows. Still never a client app.
- Client gets the 2-left note
- Opt-in per client: the same low-session alert you get, sent to them.
WhyClients who know they are at 2 left buy before they hit 0.
- Lost-link recovery
- A client who lost her link enters her phone number and gets it back by text. Never confirms whether a number is on file.
WhyToday she has to ask you. You should not be the help desk.
- Month in numbers
- Sessions delivered, late cancels, no-shows, money in. One screen per month, exportable.
WhyTax time and the “how did this month go” question.
- Pack terms at purchase
- Your policy shown at Buy, accepted with the payment, stamped on the pack.
WhyThe argument about the late-cancel rule ends when they agreed to it on the day they paid.
- Log while offline
- A session logged on bad gym wifi queues and sends when the signal returns.
WhyGym wifi is bad. The counter should not care.
Later
5 itemsReal, wanted, behind everything above- Second trainer seat
- A two-person practice shares one roster. Each sees their own clients. Not a studio OS.
- Monthly clients
- A client on a flat monthly rate gets a renewal date instead of a count. Recurring billing through your Stripe account comes after.
- Shared packs
- One pack used by a couple or a duo.
- UK, Canada, Australia
- Local currency and Stripe accounts. Same product.
- Edit a logged time
- Move a session to the hour it actually happened.
Not planned
7 asksThe answer is no and stays noPacksLeft is a counter and a cash register. The day it becomes a workout app it stops being the thing that is simple enough to use between sets.
- Workout programming, exercise videos, nutrition, habits
- That is what the other apps are for. Use one if your clients want it. PacksLeft sits beside it.
- A client app in the App Store
- Your clients will not download it. The link works on any phone with no install.
- A trainer app in the App Store
- The home-screen install above gives the same thing without the store, the review queue, or the cut on your subscription.
- Class scheduling, waitlists, rooms, staff calendars
- Studio software. Different job, different buyer. 1:1 booking for your own clients is in and stays in.
- Marketplace or “find a trainer”
- You bring your clients. PacksLeft does not sell you leads.
- Chat, social, leaderboards
- You already text your clients.
- Taking a cut of your pack sales
- Stripe rates only. 0% is the product, not a launch promo.
